Ebonyi ADC Insists Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor’s Tenure Expired, Dismisses ‘Unauthorised’ Primaries

Ebonyi ADC Insists Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor’s Tenure Expired, Dismisses ‘Unauthorised’ Primaries

The Silas Onuonu-led African Democratic Congress in Ebonyi State says Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor’s term as state chairman ended on 19 May 2026. A statement from the party’s publicity secretary warns that anyone claiming to be an ADC candidate without taking part in the May 21–22 primaries is an impostor. It adds that any announcements by Mrs. Adibe-Nwafor after her tenure lapsed have no binding effect on the party. The release also denounces a recent gathering convened by “Hon. Tobias Nnabike Oriji” as an APC-aligned event masquerading as an ADC meeting. It states that all resolutions and caretaker arrangements from that forum are invalid. Ebonyi ADC reaffirms its commitment to due process, internal democracy, and building a credible opposition ahead of the 2027 polls. It urges members and the public to disregard any statements from unofficial gatherings.

Claiming her tenure ended in May 2026 feels oddly precise while rejecting all primaries outright.

I'm not convinced that sidelining Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor automatically invalidates every candidate involved in those two-day primaries.

Party officials should clarify their timeline and invite all aspirants to credible reruns, avoiding further confusion ahead of elections.
