Governor Radda Flags Off ₦6.1bn School Improvement Grants for 110 Katsina Schools

Governor Radda Flags Off ₦6.1bn School Improvement Grants for 110 Katsina Schools

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has launched the second disbursement of School Improvement Grants totaling ₦6,116,343,477 to 110 public schools across Katsina State. The initiative will fund new classroom construction, renovation of dilapidated buildings, gender-sensitive toilets, and safe water facilities in line with UBEC standards. At the TESS Project Office, the governor also commissioned a 500-seat conference hall and distributed specialized learning materials to the School for the Blind in Katsina and the School for the Deaf in Malumfashi. He highlighted achievements under the TESS Project, including textbook and tablet provision, teacher training for 28,000 educators, and CCTV installations in 130 schools to enhance security. Governor Radda outlined plans for transparent fund management through a monitoring committee comprising anti-corruption agencies, the State Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Team, and other stakeholders. He urged School-Based Management Committees, parents, community leaders, and teachers to safeguard these resources for maximum impact.
