Gunmen Kill Police Inspector at Benue IDP Camp Roadblock

Inspector Otor Ejiga was shot dead on Thursday while manning an illegal lone roadblock near the Mega IDP Camp along Gbajimba Road in Makurdi. Security analyst reports indicate that the assailants seized the officer’s Type 06 rifle during the attack. A patrol team later recovered Ejiga’s body and deposited it at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspects and issued a query to the supervising officer over alleged lapses in supervision. A comprehensive investigation has also been ordered.
