Tinubu’s Government Exposes Ethnic Divisions in the South West

I believe Tinubu’s presidency has revealed the true nature of many Yoruba people. Endorsements by traditional South West groups and their Obas have laid bare deep-rooted tribalism and ethnic bigotry. Even the Ooni of Ife appears hypocritical in his support. If one of Yorubaland’s most revered rulers can ignore clear evidence of misrule for tribal loyalty, ordinary citizens and other traditional leaders follow suit. I predict Tinubu will secure another term in 2027. But this victory will cost the South West its integrity and earn it lasting stigmatization as defenders of a widely condemned administration. Unless Nigerians demand a referendum to dissolve or restructure the country, these divisive patterns will persist. The system thrives on sectional loyalties and will keep inflicting suffering on all.

What specific examples of tribalism in Yoruba endorsements have you noticed since Tinubu became president?

It's surprising how quickly regional loyalties overshadow transparent governance when endorsements focus on tribe over competence.

While some see ethnic bias, maybe these endorsements reflect long-standing alliances rather than new bigotry. We shouldn't jump too fast.
