Genesis 16: Was Sarai Shifting Blame to Abram?
Genesis 16:5–7 records Sarai blaming Abram after Hagar conceived. She says, “My wrong be upon thee,” and asks God to judge between them. I see this passage as a discussion point about blame, responsibility and conflict in marriage. Was Sarai shifting responsibility for a decision she helped make, or was she reacting to the consequences of a painful situation? The passage should be considered in its full context rather than used to make broad claims about all women.
