WAEC Result Showing “HELD”? What It Means and What to Do
Seeing “HELD” on your 2026 WAEC result can be worrying, but it does not automatically mean you failed or that your result has been cancelled. It means WAEC has temporarily withheld the result while it reviews an issue. A result may be held over suspected examination malpractice, irregularities at an entire centre, identity-verification concerns, or the need for further script review. Candidates who did not personally break any rule may also be affected where a whole centre is under investigation. Wait for WAEC’s review and follow updates through official channels. Do not rely on rumours or pay anyone who claims they can “clear” a held result. The result may still be released once the investigation is concluded.
