Plateau State’s Free Anti-Venom Scheme Saves 311 of 312 Snakebite Victims

Plateau State Government’s Free Anti-Snake Venom initiative has achieved remarkable success, treating 311 out of 312 reported snakebite cases between December 2025 and June 2026. The Director-General of the State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency highlighted that distributing Echitab® Anti-Snake Venom across 15 local government areas eliminated treatment costs and boosted public confidence in seeking prompt care. Ahead of the farming season, additional stocks were approved to ensure healthcare facilities remain stocked and ready for emergencies.
