Tinubu Proposes 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for Rwandan Citizens
President Bola Tinubu has announced that Nigeria will consider allowing Rwandan citizens to enter the country without a visa for up to 30 days. This proposal came after his meeting with President Paul Kagame in Kigali during the Africa CEO Forum. Both leaders agreed to mirror Rwanda’s visa-free policy for Nigerians and to revive a joint commission set up in 2021. Nigeria will host the next commission meeting to deepen cooperation in trade, tourism, anti-corruption, and anti-drug trafficking efforts. They also pledged support for the African Continental Free Trade Area and are in talks with RwandAir to improve export and travel connections. Tinubu emphasized that reducing travel barriers is key to boosting pan-African trade and economic growth.
