Thousands of ITF SUPA Trainees Sit City & Guilds Mock Exams Nationwide
By Golok Nanmwa, Jos Thousands of trainees under the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) programme sat City & Guilds mock exams on Tuesday. The tests took place in 34 approved centres and ITF area offices across Nigeria. The exams covered nine trades: Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Scaffolding, Waiting, Electrical Installation, Auto Mechanics, Carpentry, Cyber Security, and Housekeeping. Trainees were chosen based on strong performance in both theory and practical sessions. ITF’s Director of Certification, Mrs Olayinka Shodunke, said City & Guilds will review the mock scripts before setting the final exam dates. Director-General Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun praised the partnership and confirmed that Phase 2026 of the SUPA programme will start in the coming weeks. He urged all Nigerian youths to register and gain internationally recognised skills.
