Kidnappers Abduct Kubwa Artisan in Abuja After Threatening His Daughter
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers stormed the Kungabokun community in the Byazhin area of Kubwa, Abuja, shortly before midnight on Sunday, May 31, 2026. They forced entry through a window and abducted Emmanuel Oluwole, a local artisan, after threatening to kill one of his two daughters. Oluwole, known for installing solar systems and repairing refrigerators, air conditioners and generators, initially hid in the toilet but was forced to surrender. Neighbours say three attackers entered the bungalow while others waited outside. His wife and children left the following morning for safety. Community leaders warn the surge in kidnappings has spread fear among poultry farmers and fishermen. A joint security team of soldiers, mobile police and other officers had reduced crime in the area before they were withdrawn a month ago. The Divisional Police Officer confirms the abduction and says investigations are ongoing.
