Kogi Police Neutralise Kidnapper, Rescue Abducted Man in Ijumu Operation
The Kogi State Police Command has killed a suspected kidnapper and freed a victim during a joint operation in Ijumu Local Government Area. Security forces recovered an Italian-made pump-action gun and the suspect’s body after a fierce gunbattle in Olle-Bunu Forest. The abducted man, who was shot, is now receiving medical care. Less than 24 hours earlier, officers rescued four hostages in Dekina, showing the command’s intensified drive against violent crimes. The Commissioner of Police praised the operatives and vigilantes and urged the public to share timely intelligence to help end kidnapping in the state.
