Digital Learning for All: Lagos State and Estar Join Forces

I’m excited about the recent MoU between the Lagos State Government and Estar. This partnership will bring digital learning tools to every public primary and secondary school in the state. No longer will only private school students enjoy the latest resources. Through this initiative, students will develop both soft and hard skills. They’ll build critical thinking, confidence, leadership and even AI literacy. Classroom participation, reading and comprehension will also improve. This is a true step toward equity and inclusion. A child in Mushin or Ikorodu will access the same quality tools as one on the Island. If implemented well, Lagos public school students will be ready for the future.

This sounds promising, but past initiatives often stalled due to funding gaps and teacher training challenges in Lagos schools.

Digital resources alone won't solve deep-rooted curriculum and infrastructure issues without clear accountability and ongoing support.

To make this work, stakeholders should focus on regular tech maintenance schedules and practical teacher workshops for effective usage.
