NOA Calls for Unity After Oyo Student Rescue Operation
The National Orientation Agency has urged Nigerians to stand together against insurgency and all security threats. The agency highlighted the nation’s diversity as a strength that should not be exploited by criminals seeking to sow fear and division. The call follows the successful rescue of abducted students and teachers in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State. Security forces executed a month-long, intelligence-led operation in Old Oyo National Park. They identified terrorist leaders, disrupted their networks and freed the victims without paying ransom. The agency praised the professionalism and sacrifice of security personnel. It warned that defeating insecurity requires every citizen’s vigilance, reporting of suspicious activities and rejection of narratives that divide the country. NOA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible citizenship through its grassroots network in all 774 local government areas. It encouraged Nigerians to remain united and support coordinated efforts for lasting peace.
