31 UNIOSUN Students Awarded Scholarships by ODF Texas and WAPCO
Thirty-one undergraduates at Osun State University have received scholarship awards from the Osun Development Association Forum in Texas and the West African Gas Pipeline Company. The initiative seeks to promote academic excellence and ease students’ financial challenges. The presentation ceremony took place at the university’s Council Chamber in Osogbo. University leaders, academic staff, student representatives and members of the donor organisations attended the event. Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, the Vice-Chancellor, described the scholarships as “a symbol of hope, opportunity and belief in the transformative power of education.” He urged beneficiaries to stay focused and let excellence be their signature. Alhaji Kazeem Adetunji, President of the Forum in Texas, noted that since 2016 the group has awarded about 600 scholarships and installed motorised boreholes and medical outreach programmes across Osun State. He expressed hope that the new scholars would give back to their communities.
