Troops Detain Suspect Following Fulani Militia Attack That Killed Plateau Farmer
Troops of Sector 6 under Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a suspect after a suspected Fulani militia attacked Rinyan village in Tahoss, Riyom LGA, Plateau State. The assault on Saturday around 4:00 p.m. left Mrs Hudung Luja, a 40-year-old farmer, dead and another woman wounded while they worked on the farm. Soldiers pursued fleeing gunmen but only one suspect was captured. He is now in custody and undergoing interrogation as the investigation continues. The injured victim was evacuated to General Hospital in Riyom for treatment. The military says it will sustain intensified operations across Plateau to curb further violence.
