1 / 3

Mr. Chinedu Anamelechi, a local vigilante in Amakama community, fled after allegedly shooting a woman, Ezinne Ariwodo, dead on April 15. Witnesses say he also wounded a youth who intervened and stabbed another woman before disappearing. On April 18, his body was discovered in a nearby bush. The Abia State Police Command has not confirmed a cause of death, but locals suggest he may have taken his own life to avoid arrest. The police earlier recovered the victim’s body and rescued the injured. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding both deaths are ongoing.
