High Court Upholds David Mark as ADC National Chairman, Dismisses Abejide’s Suit
The Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed Senator David Mark as National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress. Justice Musa Liman ruled that Representative Leke Abejide’s challenge was without merit and dismissed the suit. The judge found the court lacked jurisdiction over internal party affairs and said Abejide failed to prove any rights infringement. He also determined that the July 2 stakeholders’ meeting and the July 29 NEC session validly installed the Mark-led leadership. Compliance with the ADC Constitution, the Electoral Act and other legal provisions was confirmed. The court awarded ₦2 million in costs to each defendant and imposed ₦10 million in costs against Abejide’s counsel.
