Amaechi Blames Tinubu’s ‘Emi Lokan’ Mentality for Nigeria’s Suffering
Rotimi Amaechi, ADC presidential aspirant, said President Tinubu’s “emi lokan” mindset is at the root of Nigeria’s current hardship. He made the remarks after submitting his nomination forms in Abuja. Amaechi urged Nigerians to vote for merit rather than regional zoning or “it’s our turn” claims. “It is the ‘emi lokan’ mentality that brought us here,” he said, arguing that this attitude has deepened the nation’s economic pain. He challenged the APC to be ashamed of the current state of affairs and step aside in the 2027 election. “They should allow other Nigerians to participate and change the country,” Amaechi added. The former minister also lamented the impact of bad policies on the naira. He warned that no group—Christians, Muslims, northerners or southerners—has been spared from the suffering wrought by the present administration.
