Three Brazilian Sisters Over 100 Break Guinness Record with Combined Age of 316

Three Brazilian Sisters Over 100 Break Guinness Record with Combined Age of 316 — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Three Brazilian sisters from Rio de Janeiro have been recognised as the world’s oldest living trio of siblings by Guinness World Records. At ages 103, 104 and 109, Zulina de Deus Nunes, Zoraide de Deus Mota and Levita de Deus Nunes total 316 years between them. Researchers from the DNA Longevo Project at the University of São Paulo will study their genes to identify factors behind healthy ageing. The sisters credit their long lives to a fresh diet and an active lifestyle. Zulina recalls swimming and fishing in rivers as a child, while Zoraide highlights the importance of breastfeeding and family support. Scientists will compare centenarians with others who face frailty or cognitive decline to find protective genes and traits. The project aims to recruit 500 centenarians for more definitive insights.

It's impressive, but I wonder how much genetics versus lifestyle influenced their longevity and world record recognition.

Maybe instead of chasing records, we should focus on sustainable health habits that support long and active lives for everyone.
