Dangote Sets Jet Fuel Gantry Price at ₦1,820/Litre to Boost Transparency
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has fixed its gantry price for aviation fuel at ₦1,820 per litre. This aims to improve transparency and curb excessive margins by middlemen. Airlines have raised concerns over soaring jet fuel costs. Despite guidance from the National Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, marketers still charge ₦2,230 per litre or more, far above the regulator’s suggested band of ₦1,760–₦1,988 in Lagos and about ₦2,037 in Abuja. Industry experts warn that opaque pricing threatens to cripple the aviation sector. They say daily publication of gantry prices by the refinery could eliminate artificial hikes and ease operational burdens for carriers.
