Coalition of Northern Groups Warns Against Division and Foreign Interference
The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has expressed deep concern over recent attacks in Plateau and Kaduna states. At least 14 people were killed in Anguwan Rukuba, Jos North, and 13 more died at a wedding in Kagarko, with several abducted. CNG strongly condemns the deliberate targeting of civilians. It warns against reprisals, mob violence, and identity profiling, urging religious leaders and community influencers to avoid inflammatory statements. The group also highlights the role of foreign interlopers exploiting local tensions. It calls on federal and state governments to shift from reactive deployments to sustainable security strategies that address root causes. CNG stands in solidarity with the victims and urges all citizens to remain calm, law-abiding, and united against forces seeking to divide northern Nigeria.
