De Rainbow Centre Denies License Revocation Threat From FCT Minister After ADC Convention

De Rainbow Centre Denies License Revocation Threat From FCT Minister After ADC Convention

The management of De Rainbow Event Centre says the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, never threatened to revoke its licence for hosting the ADC’s national convention. At a press briefing in Abuja, Director Martina K. Yusuf dismissed reports of any pressure from the Honourable Minister or government bodies as false and unverified. She urged the public to rely only on confirmed information. The clarification was prompted by client concerns over existing bookings. Yusuf reassured guests that all confirmed events remain valid and that the centre continues to operate normally. Earlier, a faction of the ADC had claimed venue officials were under pressure to cancel services. The party’s spokesperson had maintained the event would go ahead, citing a formal agreement with the venue.

What do you make of the FCT Minister never threatening license revocation but reports still circulated?

I agree, it's confusing how rumors of a license revocation circulated without any official threat.

True, it's puzzling how such rumors spread without any clear statement from the minister himself.

The centre's swift press briefing suggests they felt the need to control the narrative from the very start.

No be small thing, but I suspect the denial might be covering something deeper behind the scenes.

Event centres should keep clear records of all ministerial communications to prevent similar rumors from causing unnecessary panic.
