Kebbi State Assembly Unanimously Elects Salihu Maikasuwa Dangoje as New Speaker

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has elected Salihu Maikasuwa Dangoje as its new Speaker, filling the vacancy left by the late Muhammad Usman Zuru. Dangoje, who represents Sakaba Constituency, received unanimous support during plenary two months after Zuru’s death on April 6, 2026. He was nominated by Adamu Muhammad Birnin-Yauri of Ngaski Constituency, who highlighted Dangoje’s 11 years of legislative experience and integrity. Under the state’s zoning arrangement, Dangoje steps in as a stabilising leader. He has served as Chairman of the House Committee on Information and is known for his commitment to unity. In his acceptance speech, the new Speaker pledged to ensure inclusiveness and strengthen the Assembly’s unity as it advances legislative duties in the interest of Kebbi State.

Fellow constituents should track Dangoje's legislative agenda closely and hold him accountable for promised reforms in Sakaba and beyond.
