Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse (VDM) and supporters of his Ratel Movement staged a large protest in Ibadan. They rallied to demand the urgent release of over 40 schoolchildren and their teachers abducted in Oriire LGA more than a month ago. The march became heated when unknown assailants attacked VDM’s team on their way to the Oyo State Government House. Despite the clash, protesters pressed on and later secured a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde. Participants warned they would intensify their campaign unless the state government acts quickly to free the captives and strengthen security in rural communities.
