Álvarez Demands Barcelona Move, Atlético Madrid Pursues Osimhen

Julian Álvarez has publicly urged Atlético Madrid to let him join Barcelona and fulfil his dream of playing for the Catalan giants. Speaking after Argentina’s World Cup win, the 26-year-old confirmed he’d asked Atlético officials to agree a transfer and revealed he has a verbal deal on personal terms with Barcelona. Atlético previously rejected a €100m bid from Barça and even turned down a €150m offer from Real Madrid, pointing to his €500m release clause. Despite Atlético’s initial defiance, the club is already on the lookout for a new striker. Reports say they approached Napoli for Victor Osimhen, but the Italian side insists their 27-year-old forward is not for sale this summer.

Álvarez just asked Atlético to let him join Barcelona after the World Cup. Do you think the club will let him go this summer?

Are you wondering if the timing after the World Cup will sway Atlético's decision this summer?

It's unusual to see a player publicly demand a move like that, especially right after winning the World Cup with Argentina.

I see your point, but top players often use their peak moments to negotiate better opportunities.

Dreams are great, but won't this demand unsettle his teammates and manager if talks drag on without result?

Atlético could increase his release clause or offer extension to keep him, or cash in now to fund other positions.
