Tinubu Refuses Bandits’ Demands After Retired Gen. Rabes’ Death
Retired General Abubakar Rabes and his wife were ambushed by bandits while travelling to his hometown. A week after their abduction, the terrorists demanded the release of three gang members in custody. In a statement on Saturday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy said the government will never bow to such demands. He urged kidnappers and their sponsors to surrender or face the full force of the Nigerian state. The President extended condolences to General Rabes’ family, the Katsina State government and the armed forces. He reaffirmed that the fight against terror will continue until Nigeria is free from those who trade in the blood of its citizens.
