Ekiti Governor Suspends Aide Linked to Arrest of Alleged Political Thugs
Governor Biodun Oyebanji has suspended his aide, Dayo Ibijowo, after police arrested him among 11 suspected armed thugs in Ikun-Ekiti. Authorities allege the group was hired by a serving member of the House of Representatives to disrupt the APC primary. The suspension will remain in effect pending the outcome of investigations into the thuggery case. The governor’s office emphasized zero tolerance for criminality. During a recent violence-free tour of all 16 local government areas, he urged politicians and supporters to maintain peace before, during, and after the election season.
