Eight-Month Pregnant Wife Files for Divorce, Alleges Assault and Neglect
An eight-month pregnant housewife from Mararaba, Nasarawa has petitioned the Upper Area Court to confirm her divorce. She accuses her husband of beating her and failing to provide food, clothing or healthcare. She says she has been living with her parents since the alleged abuse. In her petition, she asks the court to compel her husband to take responsibility for her pregnancy and unborn child. The judge has adjourned the case until June 11 for further hearing.
