UK Appoints Peter Vowles as High Commissioner to Nigeria

UK Appoints Peter Vowles as High Commissioner to Nigeria

The UK government has named Peter Vowles as its new High Commissioner to Nigeria. He takes over from Richard Montgomery in this key diplomatic post. Vowles is a seasoned diplomat with experience as the UK Ambassador to Zimbabwe and several senior roles within the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. He has led initiatives in trade, security, and international development. In his new role, he will represent the British government and King Charles III, manage diplomatic relations, promote trade and investment, and support cultural and educational exchanges to deepen UK–Nigeria ties.

Local stakeholders should engage early with the new commissioner to set clear priorities, ensuring mutual benefits in trade and diplomatic cooperation.
