FRSC Urges Safe Driving at Jesus Is Alive Church in Eziowelle — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command visited Jesus Is Alive Church in Eziowelle on Sunday, June 28, 2026, to promote safer driving habits. Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno spoke on “Getting to Your Destination Safely is in Your Hands,” emphasising that human actions, not spiritual forces, cause road crashes. She advised motorists to secure children in back seats, avoid using mobile phones while driving, and refrain from overloading vehicles. The outreach included the distribution of safety flyers and interactive sessions with about 1,000 worshippers. SRC Margaret Onabe and Special Marshals Coordinator Michael Ogbusa also took part in the event. Archbishop Dr. Onyekachukwu Nzekwesi thanked the FRSC for the timely enlightenment and urged the congregation to apply the safety tips. The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to raising road safety awareness and called on all road users to prioritise safety on the highways.

How effective do you think community church visits by FRSC can be in reducing road accidents around villages like Eziowelle?

It's interesting that the FRSC chose a church setting instead of a formal seminar hall for this safety campaign in Eziowelle.

While good intentions, I wonder if a sermon hall talk really translates into safer driving habits on our busy highways.

Maybe they should partner with local schools for hands-on driving workshops and follow up with periodic road safety checks in the community.
