NDC Spokesman Says Morris Monye Should Address Primary Dispute With State Leaders
Theo Abu Agada, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) new media director, says the party’s national leadership was not responsible for Morris Monye’s exclusion from the candidate list after the Aniocha North House of Assembly primary. Agada said Monye should address his grievances with state and grassroots leaders, claiming that the names submitted by local party leaders are the ones uploaded to INEC. He named Prof. Pat Utomi and Victor Ochei as key local leaders who determine candidate selections. The dispute is part of wider allegations of irregularities in NDC primaries. Several aspirants and Obidient Movement figures have alleged pre-determined candidate lists, support-fee demands, winner substitutions and the sidelining of some contenders. These claims remain allegations and have prompted public disagreements and legal threats within the party.
