Loni Anderson: A Look Back at Her Life, Career and Legacy

Loni Kaye Anderson (August 5, 1945 – August 3, 2025) rose to fame as Jennifer Marlowe on the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati. The role earned her three Golden Globe and two Emmy nominations. Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Anderson started in small film roles before landing guest spots on shows like S.W.A.T. and Phyllis. Her breakthrough came in 1978 when she impressed producers with her Jayne Mansfield–inspired look and Marilyn Monroe appeal. Beyond WKRP, Anderson starred in The Jayne Mansfield Story, appeared alongside Burt Reynolds in Stroker Ace and voiced Flo in All Dogs Go to Heaven. Her personal life included four marriages and two children. Anderson passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a battle with uterine leiomyosarcoma. She left behind a diverse body of work and a lasting impact on television comedy.

If you want to explore her work, start with a classic WKRP episode and then watch her early films.
