NYIP Denounces Angwan Rukuba Massacre, Unveils Community Security Plan
At a press conference in Abuja, Nigeria Youths In Politics (NYIP) strongly condemned the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba, Plateau State, that claimed 28 lives. The Chairman, Hon. Felix Idowu, described the killings as “barbaric, senseless, and a grave affront to humanity.” To prevent future violence, NYIP proposed the Community Resilience Against Terrorism (C-RAT) Initiative. This framework positions local communities as the first line of defence, using early warning systems, local vigilance structures, and real-time communication with security agencies. The group extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and warned that continued attacks are eroding national unity and public confidence. NYIP called on security agencies to adopt proactive measures and urged community leaders, religious institutions, and civil society to work together for peace and vigilance. Looking ahead, NYIP also urged INEC to engage all stakeholders for a smooth and credible 2027 election. The group reaffirmed its commitment to justice, victim support, and building a safer Nigeria for all.
