The Nigeria Police Force’s Special Tactical Squad has achieved a major breakthrough in Kaduna State. On 16 March 2026, operatives arrested three suspects – 36-year-old Abubakar Musa, 30-year-old Hassan Umar and 20-year-old Joshua Raphael – and recovered ten stolen vehicles. Musa, a dismissed Army corporal, had been impersonating a serving soldier to carry out armed robbery and vehicle theft. Recovered vehicles include Toyota Hilux trucks, Corolla cars, a Pontiac Vibe GT, a Honda, a Lexus and a Toyota RAV4 SUV, many with altered or missing registration numbers. Investigations continue to track down fleeing gang members and recover more exhibits. The Inspector-General of Police commended the professionalism of the officers and reiterated the force’s dedication to protecting lives and property.
