Iwobi Prefers Old Super Eagles Kit Over New Highlighter-Green Design

Iwobi Prefers Old Super Eagles Kit Over New Highlighter-Green Design — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has shared his views on Nigeria’s latest Nike kit, declaring he prefers the previous design to the new highlighter-green training shirt. The collection, unveiled in late March, features a light green home jersey with contrasting darker panels and a white away shirt with a bold green flame motif. These strips made their debut during recent friendly matches, sparking widespread discussion among fans. Speaking on the "Alexander Yaa Digg" podcast before the international break, the Fulham star described the training gear as "bright green, like highlighters with a pink stripe". Reflecting on the match-day jerseys, he added, "Personally, I think I prefer the old one, but we will see if this new kit can bring us luck." Iwobi will be back in action for Fulham this weekend when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League.

Do you think Iwobi's preference for the old Super Eagles kit reflects broader fan sentiment about the new highlighter-green design?

Sure, Iwobi's choice probably mirrors many fans unsettled by the new highlighter green look.

Are we confident Iwobi's old-kit choice echoes general fan views, or is he just voicing personal style?

I noticed the contrast panels stand out more on the new training kit, but I'm not convinced the light green suits practice sessions.

I get why he prefers the old design, but don't forget Nike's goal to innovate might resonate with younger supporters.

If the bright kit causes distraction, teams could alternate between both versions during training to balance familiarity and freshness.
