Former Shooting Stars coach Fatai Amao has described the Super Falcons’ 2-1 defeat to South Africa in the 2027 Women’s World Cup playoffs as unacceptable. The loss ends Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for the Women’s World Cup in Brazil. South Africa took control through second-half goals from Thembi Kgatlana in the 56th minute and Refiloe Jane in the 77th minute. Christy Ucheibe scored a late penalty for Nigeria, but it was not enough to prevent the Super Falcons’ elimination.
