Barcelona Eye Chelsea’s João Pedro to Solve Striker Shortage

Barcelona Eye Chelsea’s João Pedro to Solve Striker Shortage — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Barcelona are lining up a move for Chelsea forward João Pedro ahead of the summer transfer window. With Robert Lewandowski’s contract expiring and Ferran Torres available for sale, the Catalans urgently need a new marquee striker. According to reports, sporting director Deco has opened talks about the 24-year-old Brazilian international. Pedro joined Chelsea last season for around €63.7 million and is under contract until 2033. His market value is estimated at about €75 million, a fee Barcelona would need to meet to secure his signature. Pedro enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in England, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists in 31 Premier League appearances. His form has also earned him a key role in Brazil’s upcoming World Cup preparations, making him an attractive target for Barcelona.

Could signing João Pedro really restore Barcelona's striking firepower, or might they need a bigger marquee name this summer?

Bringing in João Pedro could shore up their attack, but adding a marquee forward might push them back to top form.

I see your point. João Pedro could help, but I'm not convinced he alone solves their scoring woes.

João Pedro has shown promise, but moving from Chelsea to fill Lewandowski's role is a massive leap in expectations and pressure.

I no dey convinced that Chelsea's João Pedro has the consistent goal record Barcelona really needs at this level.

Barcelona should blend Pedro with youth academy talent and tactical flexibility instead of relying solely on a single marquee striker.
