Suspected Burglar Beaten by Mob After Alleged Theft Attempt in Ogun

A 22-year-old man was reportedly beaten by residents after he was accused of attempting to steal motor parts from an auto sales lot in Oke-Sokori, Abeokuta North LGA, Ogun State. The incident reportedly happened during the Thursday environmental sanitation period. A security guard at the lot said the suspect entered through a small gate and was found behind the office with a sack, allegedly preparing to pack abandoned vehicle parts. The guard said the suspect claimed he was looking for used plastic bottles. Residents also linked him to previous thefts in the area, including the alleged removal of a generator from a nearby premises. He was said to have sustained injuries after the mob attack.
