Marafa Joins NDC Over ADC’s Court Battles Ahead of 2027
Former Zamfara Central senator Kabir Garba Marafa has formally joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress after citing unresolved legal disputes within his former party. He left the African Democratic Congress three weeks after defecting from the All Progressives Congress amid internal disagreements. Marafa warned that ADC’s ongoing court cases could disrupt candidate registration and primaries before the 2027 elections. He described the move as a pragmatic step to secure a stable platform and pledged to respect the NDC’s internal processes. NDC leaders, including their national chairman and Bayelsa West senator, welcomed Marafa and urged him to mobilise his grassroots network. They highlighted his influence in Zamfara and the North-West region.
