Onoriode and Edet Complete Thrilling Sprint Doubles at MTN CHAMPS Ibadan Finale

Final day at Lekan Salami Stadium wrapped up the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final in Ibadan with young sprinters stealing the show. Bernice Onoriode stormed to victory in the U-17 girls’ 100m, setting a PB of 11.88s. She backed it up with the 200m crown in 24.44s to secure her sprint double. In the youth boys’ races, Fervent Edet powered to 100m gold in 11.10s and added the 200m title in 22.45s. Cadet and junior finals also produced exciting winners in the 100m and 200m events. Strong performances in the 400m and 800m rounds rounded off a successful meet. The finale highlighted Nigeria’s depth of track talent and bodes well for the future of sprinting.
