Casquero Urges Sevilla to Appoint Bordalás, Says He Could Forge Akor Adams into a ‘Prime Drogba’ — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Former Sevilla forward Javier Casquero has praised Getafe coach José Bordalás for his knack of elevating players. He believes Bordalás could have shaped Nigerian striker Akor Adams into a force akin to Didier Drogba at his peak. Akor Adams has netted seven goals and delivered four assists in 25 appearances this season. His role at Sevilla grew uncertain after Matías Almeyda’s exit following a poor run of form. Casquero shared his views during a discussion on Radio Marca, highlighting the Getafe manager’s unique talent for maximising squad potential. Sevilla have since replaced Almeyda with Luis García as they push to secure their La Liga status.

Do you think Bordalás genuinely has the vision and style to elevate Akor Adams into a prime Drogba figure at Sevilla?

Absolutely, his pragmatic tactics could really get Adams firing like Drogba did.

You're right, Bordalás has that reputation for transforming strikers. He could guide Akor Adams toward that level of excellence.

It's notable that Adams' current tally of seven goals still trails many top forwards; Sevilla's playing style might not suit his strengths immediately.

While Bordalás has improved some players, assuming he can turn every striker into a superstar feels overly optimistic this time.

For now, Adams needs consistent starts and service; even Bordalás' tactics require quality supply for strikers to hit peak form.
