Troops Rescue Four Children as Kidnap Attempt Is Foiled in Plateau

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace, have foiled an attempted kidnapping in Agingi, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The troops responded at about 5:45 p.m. on August 17, 2026, after reports that suspected kidnappers targeted four children returning from a farm. The suspects fled after the troops intervened. The children, aged 13 to 15, were rescued and reunited with their families. Security forces have begun efforts to trace and arrest the fleeing suspects.
