Boko Haram, ISWAP Raid Borno Exam Hall: Teacher Killed, NECO Students Abducted

Gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram and ISWAP stormed Government Day Secondary School in Lassa, Askira/Uba LGA of Borno State on June 29. They opened fire around 9 a.m., sparking panic among NECO candidates and staff. A teacher was killed before the attackers fled with several students. The state police spokesperson confirmed the raid and said officers are still accounting for missing students. Investigations are ongoing to trace the abducted pupils and bring them to safety. This attack comes 47 days after the abduction of 42 pupils, some as young as two, from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in the same area. Those children remain in captivity.
