Armed Robbers Kill Ondo Technician Who Defended His Family
On July 5, residents of the Shagari axis in Akure South LGA, Ondo State, woke to the sound of three suspected armed robbers raiding homes around 1 a.m. The gang hit two houses before storming the compound of 47-year-old refrigeration and air conditioning technician Idris Abiodun Clement. Clement confronted one of the intruders to protect his wife and five children. He was attacked with axes and cutlasses, then shot. Rushed to hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries. His widow has appealed to the state government and security agencies to ensure the killers face justice. The Ondo State Police Command says one suspect has been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
