Jonathan Urges Nigerians to Reject “Normal” Violence and Restore Moral Values
Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan warned that Nigerians are becoming desensitised to killings, insecurity and moral decline. He spoke at the Anglican Diocese of Abuja’s opening session of the 13th Synod, calling for national reflection and spiritual renewal. Jonathan urged responsible leadership and highlighted the Church’s crucial role in shaping society and upholding values. He cautioned that modern technology can spread negative influences that glorify harm and urged faith leaders to speak truth and defend righteousness. He stressed that integrity, courage and vision are vital in leadership and appealed for collective prayers and efforts toward peace, justice and national renewal. Former Primate Peter Akinola also praised the synod’s impact and noted that foreign delegates left Nigeria with a positive impression despite negative media narratives.
