Russian Artist and Putin Critic Fatally Shot in Poland
A Russian artist and outspoken critic of President Putin, Robert Kuzovkov (known as Semyon Skrepetsky), was shot dead Monday morning in Biała Podlaska, near the Belarusian border. Officials say a gunman first fired two shots, then delivered three more at close range, at least one striking the head. Kuzovkov died at the scene. Two Belarusians have been detained but not yet charged as investigators work to establish their role. The 44-year-old had joined a protest in Berlin on Russia Day and used his art to challenge Kremlin policies, according to local media. Authorities are still probing the motive behind his killing.
