1 / 4

The Special Anti-Touting Squad Agency (SASA) has destroyed over ₦100 million worth of hard drugs seized during a major operation in Onitsha and its environs. The crackdown led to the arrest of several notorious dealers now in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Operatives recovered large quantities of substances including Mmiri Ọgwụ (Mkpurummiri), cocaine, cannabis and other narcotics. All seized drugs were publicly incinerated to prevent any return to circulation. During the destruction event, SASA Managing Director Hon. Monday Nwokoye reiterated the agency’s resolve to fight drug trafficking and related crimes driving cultism, armed robbery and youth restiveness in Anambra State. He also called on residents to support security efforts with credible information and thanked the state governor for his backing in strengthening law and order across the region.
