US-based Nigerian Priest Fr. Andrew Ifele Dies in His Sleep
A respected Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Ifele, died in his sleep on Monday, April 27, 2026, while serving in the United States. He was administrator of La Santisima Trinidad in Arroyo Seco, Archdiocese of Santa Fe. Since 2011, Fr. Ifele served at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Questa and its mission parishes at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Cerro, Sagrado Corazón in Costilla, Santo Niño in Amalia, and St. Edwin’s in Red River. The Catholic Diocese of Awka released a statement confirming his passing. Funeral arrangements will be announced by church authorities in due course.
