Police Arrest Two Suspected One-Chance Robbers in Abeokuta

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit have arrested two suspected members of a one-chance robbery syndicate in Abeokuta. The suspects, aged 29 and 42, were arrested on August 15 after intelligence indicated that suspected gang members were travelling in a taxi towards Ita-Oshin. Officers trailed and intercepted the vehicle. Police said the syndicate allegedly posed as commercial taxi drivers to rob passengers of phones, cash and other valuables. The two suspects reportedly confessed to involvement in robberies targeting commuters in Abeokuta. The police said efforts were underway to arrest other fleeing suspects and recover exhibits. Residents and commuters were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to the authorities.
