Lewandowski Confirms He Will Feature in Poland vs Super Eagles Friendly
Poland captain and Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has confirmed he will join the squad for the friendly against Nigeria’s Super Eagles this June. Polish media say coach Jan Urban will announce the squad on May 26 ahead of the training camp. At 37, Lewandowski says he has no plans to retire from international duty. He told Eleven Sports he wants to attend the camp and properly bid farewell to coach Jacek Magiera. The striker previously faced Nigeria in a 2018 pre-World Cup friendly, where Victor Moses scored the only goal in a 1-0 win. Stars like Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Francis Uzoho and Moses Simon all featured in that match. Lewandowski has represented Poland at six major tournaments, including four European Championships and two World Cups.
